Great demo vz58

Watch "ZAHAL - Czech Small Arms VZ-58 Sporter" on YouTube

I really like this as a demo. Good clean style.

Electric firing probe for detonating ... - Google Patents

Looks like it's part of Smith and Wesson's company patent portfolio. I wonder why they never try to bring this sort of thing to market? What are the benefits of electrical ignition of small arms cartridge primers? I imagine there are probably some benefits, although it seems to me that the still-waited for innovation in small arms, e.g. the "caseless" cartridge, would benefit the most from an electrical primer detonation system.

FBI - FBI Hostage Rescue Team - HRT - YouTube

Great video. It's dated, of course, but shows some great footage. Instructional on operational trade craft, such as HRT room entry and prisoner handling, some great mp5 action and also good technique, executed as a result of professional training regime. There is no doubt that this sort of environment can produce an excellent security officer/agent/espionage and counter-intelligence cadre. The para-military aspects of this training regime take it to the next level by assuming an active assault type environment (a shooting match with armed assailants).

This is filed under the important label: tactical operational tradecraft.

Additionally: Tactical radio equipment over-view given by one of their communications supervisors. Interesting view of the options of the period, and an off-the-shelf technical approach. Also present is a freq. hopping PRC-117 military radio integrated into the tactical communications suite. Very impressive overview. I wonder if there is a manual to describe just that operational aspect of the FBI HRT units somewhere on Scribd maybe? Wonder

So add radio labels to this posting.

The PLA DRM way!

"Move from concealed location to concealed location after each shot is fired, and do so while avoiding detection. Find a way to distract an enemie's consideration of the point of origination. consider possible cover points and trap them. Control the moment. Targets of value. Sabotage. Effective interogational tactics. Sniper and spotter combination. Emphasize nightime training. Focus mastery trainging in inhospitable wind conditions. Remove any attachement. Adopt a mentality of extreme anal OCD."

Nice High-Def vid of AK74 "Krinkov" being fired:

Simplified Summary of Microsoft Research’s Bitcoin Paper on Incentivizing Transaction Propagation « coderrr

Simplified Summary of Microsoft Research’s Bitcoin Paper on Incentivizing Transaction Propagation « coderrr:

Interestingly enough, the authors propose a solution:

"Their solution to the Sybil attack is to give 0 reward to all nodes in a chain of forwards if the length of that chain is greater than H. This gives a negative incentive to create fake forwards to yourself in attempt to gain multiple rewards for a single transaction. Your best bet is to forward legitimately to other nodes and hope the transaction reaches a miner who solves it before the number of forwards is greater than H.
The paper determines optimal strategies in terms of values for H and the functions to divide the fee between nodes in the chain. But this is all modeled on directed trees (which have no cycles) rather than a random graph (which is what the Bitcoin network is like in reality) so it’s unknown how well it would work in practice. They leave work on random graphs for future research."

What is New York? Image factory for fascism.

"The raid was nice. First they blocked off all entrance and ext, including the subway (which they shut down). They then told the reporters (and this was verified by CNN staff on the ground) to leave or they would be arrested. Classy.

They surrounded the park. There was a long standoff until a pair of large, white open-bed industrial garbage haulers drove in followed by a trail of police. As protesters shouted obscenities or pleaded, the cops grabbed tents, backpacks, luggage, everything- throwing it all into one big, broken pile.

Then they threw it into the backs of the trucks, swept up what was left and hauled it all off. Meanwhile people were running into the camera guy reporting bludgeoning, people being dragged by their hair or on their faces, tear gas- all in areas that had been swept clear of cameras or reporters. I watched the reports coming in over the chat window. I also watched various people calling in reports from police scanners- Where to avoid. Sometimes one of the possible Anonymous folks would come in with AMBUSH! and street names. It was fascinating and likely a very dumb and expensive way to go about things."

I think this just goes to show you that New York, and the money lenders in lower manhatten are the real fascists hiding in broad daylight. The globalists, the pro-UN neo-Liberals all issue their marching orders from New York. New York is an image factory that reproduces images of NY, but what is NY politicially? It is a stronghold and bulwark of reactionary corporate oligarchy. It must be resisted by any means necessary. New York is an image factory of fascism.

Cyber Fast Track -- Sponsored by DARPA: "Proposals should strive to be concise and detailed. The proposal must include a detailed timeline including milestones, each with a deliverable (briefing, report, code, etc.). All awards will be firm, fixed price. Payments will be made when those deliverables are actualized and at no other time. Rationale for the cost should provide a detailed breakout of how the money will be spent and how prices and rates were determined. Hourly rates must be justified based on past commercial or Government rates, or by providing examples of equivalent rates for equivalent talent."

Concealed Carry in the Wisconsin State Capitol?

I've heard objections to CC in the Capitol of Wisconsin.

What is the presumption here? That some persons would attempt to assassinate an elected official(s)? What is preventing assassination from taking place outside the confines of the capitol complex? Considering that allowing concealed carry holders access to the capitol complex could be construed as security added move, are not said persons (CC permit holders presumably) invested in the safety and indeed the spirit of civilian firearm defense carry about their person? And besides, if someone wants to kill someone in the United States...the presumption that laws are an obstacle to a priori interpersonal violence...seems always and everywhere the hallmark of political naivete.
