Axitinib on cancer stem-like cells and its mechanism
Cancer stem-like cells self-renewal, unlimited proliferation and differentiation potential of stem cells and other characteristics of the tumor occurrence, recurrence and metastasis roots. Axitinib is - kind of oral small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor, selectively inhibits VEGFR-1, 2,3, PDGFR and c-Kit activity. This study investigated whether axitinib targeting cancer stem-like cells increased sensitivity to conventional chemotherapy and its mechanism. Methods: A549 sorting Hoechst33342 staining of tumor stem-like cells (SP-A549) and non-SP-A549 (NSP-A549) cells. MTT assay axitinib and common anticancer drugs on the SP-A549 and NSP-A549 cell cytotoxicity, cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry change.
