NSW Police issues warning on 3D printed guns

NSW Police issues warning on 3D printed guns

Commissioner said Liberator pistol suffered "catastrophic misfire" during testing

New South Wales Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione today issued a warning on the potential for 3D printed guns to be used in serious crimes in the state.
The NSW Police revealed that the force has created and tested two 3D-printed firearms. The police used the Liberator pistol blueprints produced by US-firm Defense Distributed. The original plans for the gun were downloaded more than 100,000 times before the company pulled them from its site under pressure from the US State Department.
Police believe that despite this, the files are still circulating.
The commissioner said that a Liberator pistol had experienced a catastrophic misfire during testing. The failure would have been capable of seriously injuring the person using the firearm, the police chief said.
One of the motivations for holding today's press conference was to warn of danger to the user if someone attempts to print, assemble and fire a Liberator out of curiosity.
As with other firearms, possession of a Liberator is prohibited unless the owner has an appropriate licence. It's an "offence to make one, possess one, use one," Scipione said.
"Not only are they illegal, they are enormously dangerous," Scipione said.
When the pistol successfully fired, it propelled a bullet with sufficient force to kill a target, the police revealed. When tested using a block of so-called ballistic soap – a block of gelatine used for firearms testing – the shot penetrated 17cm, which could be a fatal wound, the police said.

"This is now becoming a problem the world over," Scipione said.
The police spent $35 on materials to create a Liberator and used a $1700 desktop 3D printer. The only metal parts used in the pistol's construction where the firing pin, created with a nail, and a .380 ACP calibre pistol cartridge. The all-plastic body means that the pistol is hard for security forces to detect.
Inspector Wayne Hoffman said the creation of a pistol took the police around 27 hours. Assembling the pistol's 17 parts took around a minute. Hoffman said that the police had exactly followed the original instructions for creating the Liberator, with a number of modified versions of the file currently in circulation.
"We think it's only a matter of time before we see one of these weapons used in a serious crime in NSW," Scipione said. The commissioner said that it is "incredibly difficult" to stop distribution of the files, drawing an analogy with the illegal downloading of software, movies and music.
The Liberator is "truly undetectable, untraceable, cheap and easy to make".

The government will have to consider whether regulating CAD files used to create 3D-printed firearms needs to be regulated, the commissioner said, but added he is "not sure that we're well placed globally to deal with he transfer and downloading of thee files" and that he doubts that regulations would be able to stop the files being shared and downloaded.
File sharing service Mega last week removed plans for the one-bullet plastic gun because of confusion over the legality of distributing the blueprints.

Doug the moderate...

Your too moderate Doug. The people at the heads of the organizations you represent are for full civilian disarmament. Hillary Clinton and Bloomberg types, New York and California would-be technocrats who have run their home states into the ground economically and social policy wise. They (the radical anti-gun apparatchiks) want to strip the citizens of the means to fight back so when the final days of reckoning occur (4% chance?) there won't be a reversal of the social pyramid. Also I dispute your figures re: death toll. But even if they were accurate, I would argue that certain types of freedom are worth the inherent risk and you should too. Also I think the majority of American citizens are gun owners, cause there is a lot of guns in this country okrrrrr? Also, I argue you don't really understand modern firearms precisely because you endow them with a kind of "half-life before each one kills someone" which is simply not the case at all. Yeah, firearms kill a few people, but even in the aggregate it's not that many persons and certainly nowhere near other socially tolerated forms of death (smoking, obesity, etc) and owning a gun doesn't mean you will have mortality rates similar to someone who is habituated to tobacco or even someone who eats lots of red and processed meats because those people are def. going to get bladder cancer, colon, or pancreatic cancer like what killed Patrick Swayze. True story. (I can provide all the links you need to rigorous scientific study to back up that eating certain forms of food will give you cancer. In the hopes that you will opt out of the factory meat consumption illusion in this country perpetrated to keep you fat, depressed, and unable to resist the fatal demands of predatory individualism in late stage capitalism). As for your hopes of a future where firearms are in decline as a matter of the public's fascination and ability to acquire, defcad.org and defcad.com stand in opposition to such a scenario. Human beings have a natural right to determine the course of their own safety even in opposition to the presumed safety and stability of the herd.

On Background checks...

Increasing background checks is a covert means of denying the franchise a priori, at this point it can not be separated from the radical political agenda that seeks total civilian disarmament which is today the LEADERSHIP of the anti-gun potemkin villages (MAIG, etc). It can not be separated because the means by which this system of expanded background checks is said to be enacted is from the top down, at the "Federal" level, made in the sausage factory of beltway insiders and New York money lenders to close the "iron collars" around the great toiling masses of little people. More reason? It sounds to me like more paternalism, less state's rights, the agenda leading us towards one big dull grey North American Union.

Trayvon Martin Shooting Unlikely To Change Gun Debate, Lawmakers Concede

Trayvon Martin Shooting Unlikely To Change Gun Debate, Lawmakers Concede: ""This package of common-sense gun safety bills would sail through Congress if it wasn’t for the special interest gun lobby," he said in a statement at the time. "It's time to put aside business as usual in Washington, and start considering the safety of our families over special interests.""

Spoken like an elitist NWO scum that Lautenberg "Duel citizen and Zionist traitor to America" is. Gun saftey? Nonsense! Gun safety from the mouth's of fascists is code for confiscation and victimization of the public (read: proles, slaves, middle and lower class wage slaves, lumpen, etc) at the hands of the criminal element created, trained, and sustained by the failed fascist racist gulag prison industrial complex. Would-be gun confiscatory regimes established by Lautenberg fascist pig in the pay of his master Bloomberg, the latter a high priest of the New World Order Neo-Liberal enslavement campaign. Lautenterd has no concern for American families who would only become endangered if such laws were passed. The absurdity that the America citizenry even tolerates this gerontocracy of traitors! America awake and smash the fascists!

Lautenberg is the lowest worm of the US political system (itself a decaying corpse of the 1950s era behaviorism). He feeds on tragedy, he is the corpse surfer par excellence. He rides the wave of dead bodies to a media conference where he injects fascist, slavish state-worship and demagoguery worthy of an orator of the Third Reich or Soviet.

“There are some surprising facts people should know,” McCarthy said in a statement to HuffPost last week. “I and many others who support reasonable restrictions on guns are not trying to take away anyone’s rights. We want to keep the most dangerous weapons out of the hands of the most dangerous people.”

Keep the most dangerous weapons out of the most dangerous hands? The most dangerous weapon is the one being used at any given time to injure or kill you. And it can take the form of a knife, a gun, a car, a piece of rope, anything. In this context she implies that we know who the most dangerous people are, but how can we *ever* know who the most dangerous people are unless we enact a fascist, Orwellian society of thought-crime and thought-policing that a priori disables the rights of the citizenry?

And going still further, the most dangerous people are the bankers at Goldman Sachs and other large "financial" firms who have done more damage to this country than a thousand 9-11 "terror" attacks and a million bin ladens. Yet no one is calling on a collective crusade and deficit spending to drop JDAM bombs on the houses of bankers, or those who are making bankers, the latter of which are increasingly a kind of (financial) terrorist, and the robo-signed loan as a kind of financial IED.

McCarthy does the other historical McCarthy justice by initiating her own modern era witch-hunt against civilian gun ownership and firearm rights. In the same breath she says that she wants not to destroy rights of the citizenry but also she wants to destroy the rights of the citizenry through. Who is diluted enough to believe in their cause and not see through the blatant lies of these NWO shills and traitor-scum?

This huffpo gungrabber article is replete with the Loughnerized canards of "15 bullets in 31 seconds" jingoism. Well worth reading if you want a good laugh at a failed attempt to troll the bedrock decency of right leaning Americans.

In response to Thinkprogress's article on NRA declining role in public policy

Media Matters: NRA Dangerous Except When it Isn’t

So is the NRA really an insidious, powerful organization that controls a cabal of sinister puppet masters or not? The liberal media time and time again paints the NRA as exactly that, noting that any talk of gun control could be a hot button issue – and rightfully so we believe.
There is talk that no one can “stand up to the NRA,” and even Media Matters for America – the left leaning so-called watchdog site – often notes. But then last week, it suggested, “The Media Myth Of NRA Electoral Dominance Debunked.” The story noted:
However, a detailed new analysis suggests that the NRA’s past electoral impact is massively overblown.
The most recent installment of a Think Progress series examining the electoral strength of the NRA by American Prospect contributing editor Paul Waldman (who previously worked for Media Matters) debunks the long running narrative that the NRA had a huge impact on the 1994 and 2000 elections, calling this a “mistaken reading of history.” According to Waldman, “what the NRA claims credit for usually turns out upon closer examination to be nothing more than elections in which Republicans do well,” while when Democrats win, as they did in 2006 and 2008, “the NRA is quiet.”
So we say let President Obama run on a ticket of gun control, let Democrats push for gun control. Let’s see if this fear of the NRA is real.
Something tells us they won’t. Because it isn’t the NRA that is the puppet masters, nor does this organization operate as a cabal of nefarious and sinister plotters. It is the voters! The voters are the ones who are pushing for less gun control and protection of the Second Amendment, but this doesn’t matter to Media Matters!

Media Matters Claims Gallup Poll “Misleading”

Remember last fall’s Gallup Poll that the media widely ignored? This was the one that showed that most Americans do not actually support gun control, but apparently Media Matters for America – the left-leaning watchdog site – seems to think that it actually has gotten too much coverage.
An October Gallup poll on gun violence prevention that media outlets used to falsely claim that “support for gun control” had plummeted is still in use…
We have to disagree that was hardly a big news story, so this attempt to paint is as falsely spread news is false. We’d also like to ask Media Matters did it matter that the media inaccurately reported that 90-percent of guns used by Mexican cartels came from the United States?
But of course Media Matters also takes aim at the poll’s results noting:
The same poll found that 87 percent of respondents want the laws covering the sales of firearms either kept as they are now or made stricter, demonstrating broad national support for gun control.
To this we respond by saying, HOW WAS THE POLL WORDED? The poll asked the question that offered the response “kept as they are now or made stricter,” which could suggest that some people merely wanted the laws keep as they are now. This fact was never hidden either.
There is also a difference between the laws covering the sales of firearms and gun control, which could include making guns illegal.

Ken Aden: NWO stooge Bloomberg shill

So this Ken Aden guy is running for office. Obviously a snake-in-the-grass NWO shill but just look at how this guy presents himself to the general public?

From Reuters: "U.S. Congressional candidate Ken Aden (R) and his campaign manager Jacob Burris (C) talk with Sharon Bryant, owner of S&L Pawn in Russellville, Arkansas February 2, 2012. No one thinks gun control is going to be the most important issue in 2012, but there are specific races and constituencies where it certainly will matter. Aden, a 33-year-old Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran, is challenging his former battalion commander for a Congressional seat. Aden is running as a progressive Democrat; his opponent, Steve Womack, is a freshman incumbent, part of the Tea Party sweep of the 2010 midterm elections. Aden has strong views on guns and collects them, he also knows what terrible damage they can do. When Aden was 16, his father was shot and killed on Christmas Eve by his stepmother using his dad's own 357 magnum and his shotgun. Picture taken February 2, 2012. To match Special Report USA-BLOOMBERG/GUNS."

My thoughts:

Who attempts to get elected by detailing the tragic account of their dysfunctional family and upbringing? Only Bloomberg would run a stooge so lacking in tact? Im blogging this bitches.

The Arkansas press and investigative reporters need to figure out the connection between Aden and New York tyrant and constitutional traitor Bloomberg.

Gunwalker scandal: ATF chief assassin/director out of top job

The corrupt Obama administration refuses to prosecute this criminal Kenneth Melson for his presiding over the deaths of innocents on both sides of the border. The Obama administration handed down 'Fast and Furious' as a means to gain political support for a renewed push on the despised Clinton era assault weapons ban. Obama and his minions have no scruples when it comes to the setup.

Does it really surprise us that the director of the ATF who has blood on his hands will not be prosecuted by the executive branch? Just like Janet Reno was not executed for her criminal actions against the Branch Davidians and Ruby Ridge incident, so another ATF scum-scoundrel-murder is let off the hook by an illegal administration. We can only hope that Ron Paul will get elected and disband this criminal para-military execution force known as the ATF. If the ATF were disbanded that *might* stave off another US civil war.

Politicos

Watch "Presidential Candidates and Assault Weapons" on YouTube
Its not about hunting guys.  These are the people who legislate away our constitutional freedoms and sell us out to the Red Chinese. I'm glad John Edwards has gotten slapped with all kinds of federal law suit type stuff. Frankly.
