The Simcere reached with the United States OSI Pharmaceutical R & D agreement
Simcere first domestic chemical and biological drug companies listed on the NYSE, reached an agreement with the famous American biopharmaceutical company OSI Pharmaceuticals, will be produced in China, R & D and sales of anti-tumor molecular target for inhibitor OSI-930.
The OSI focus on the research and development of molecular targeted therapies. OSI-930 as one of its main products, two tumor molecular target inhibitors. Currently, the drug has completed Phase I clinical study in healthy volunteers in a dose-escalation, as well as in cancer patients with the use of single-agent Tarceva (OSI and Genentech, Roche pharmaceutical companies to develop small molecule ErbB-1 inhibition agent for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer) used in conjunction with dose escalation Phase I clinical studies and Phase Ⅱ clinical use of single-agent and used in combination with Tarceva determine the dose.
Clinical studies have shown, OSI-930 can inhibit cancer cell growth and proliferation of blood vessels in the tumor tissue, with oral activity. In preclinical studies, OSI-930 display for small cell lung cancer, glioblastoma, colorectal cancer, kidney cancer, head and neck cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and gastric cancer.
It is reported that Simcere has always insisted on independent research and development, and mergers and acquisitions, to both cooperative R & D, the cooperation with OSI, Simcere Sirkin M & Shanghai, Jiangsu Yanshen and investment over a hundred million this year, following the construction of the domestic pharmaceutical industry's largest drug research center after another important step.
